So my brother wants to build or buy a PC and has an $800 budget. What do you guys suggest? He wants to be able to do some heavy gaming on it.
8GB of ram, Intel Core i5-4460, 120GB SSD, 1TB hard drive and a GTX 970 should be around 600 dollars. (or scrap the SSD, get a gtx 1070 instead or better ram) Use PCpartpicker to get the rest. What do you define as "heavy gaming?"

So like the new Doom and XCOM 2
You should probably wait for the 480 to release at that budget. Should be out in a week. Get something like this. Take whatever build but 10000% get the RX 480 when it releases on the 29th (Hopefully thats the release date, its the end of the NDA anyway)

-Snip- Oh wow comepletely wrong thread.
If you want a card under $200 that can get upgraded quick for a 480/490(?), the R9 380 4GB runs DOOM well
