• Is 5770 worth getting currently?

Well, I currently have a 9800GTX+ I got in October 2008, and it's starting to wear out it feels like, and starts to not run some of my games. 5770 looks cheap, and apparently beats the 4870x2 in this benchmark: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html. Is it worth getting? If I can get it, I'm getting it for Christmas.
For DX11 and Lower res = 5770 For power and higher res= 4890 (OC) Personally, Id go for the 5770 for future proofing, but if you CAN, get a 5850 / 5870

Can't get a 5850 or a 5870, I would really like to get a 5770 though. Should I get it?
As E310 said, if you care at all for the DX11 + Eyefinity gimmicks, get a 5770. If you would like the power, go with the 4890. Do you have dual or tri monitors? [editline]01:07AM[/editline] also, those benches look funny single 4870 beats out a 4870X2?
Well, I'm getting a second monitor for my birthday, which is 3 days after Christmas.
Then you might like to go with a 5770. But a 5850/5870 would be SOOO much nicer :D
Yeah, but I'm only going to hook up 2 monitors ever in my lifetime, the 4890 has two DVI ports, right? I want more power. Should I go with a 4890?
5850 and 5870 are also SOOO much harder to get. Currently 2x5770's are the only real option if you want top of the line until the other 5000's come in stock and get bought again.
I'm not sure what the facts are behind eyefinity and the performance gains of that vs. a more powerful card :V
Should I get a 4890 though? I have an Intel board, but it only has one PCI 2 x16 slot, I could really care less about Crossfire. I don't need to run games like Crysis on max, it looks fine on all High.
I ordered a 5770 cause in 3dmark it performs twice as well as my 9800GT, and i only play at 1280x1024 and it was only $169.99
Nobody is answering my question...
What resolution do you play at?
Well, good sir, I'd personally get a 58** series if you're going dual monitor, but if you can't, probably 5770. The 4890 might be a big performance hit when you get your second.
4890 > 5770 when it comes to high resolutions or dual monitors.
4890 is soo last spring, we rather talk about our sweet 5000's that have Dx11 and the widely used eyeifinity.
Look, I have a 1680x1050 monitor. I want another 1680x1050 monitor. I won't be using the second one for gaming, now what card should I get?
I'd say 4890.
4890 for that resolution. 5850 if you can stretch your budget a little (and find a place that has them in stock)
I say a 5770, you get new features and you will haz the new shit. You will be so gangsta
4890 it is then. One more question, if I'm not doing RAID 0 or RAID 1, can I use 2 different branded harddrives together? A seagate one and a Western digital one?

You would be screwed without knowing it.

I'll get a 5770 then, I've changed my mind.
