A Command and Conquer based on a alternate universe where the Confederacy won the Civil War and had continued hostile relations with the Union(Like in the Timeline 191/Southern Victory series by Harry Turtledove) could be interesting if they did it right. Actually you know what I think a game based off the Southern Victory/Timeline 191 series would be awesome.
The Union can be the brute force and technologically advanced faction while the Confederacy can be the highly mobile and flexible faction and for a third faction you can have European nation or some fictional third faction that broke off from the Union.
But one thing I hope they do is make Red Alert more gritty and serious like it was in RA1.
Tiberium ended in Tiberian Sun.
I'm not so big on the whole overarching story so I'd actually like seeing some universe crossing-over. Perhaps interdimensional travel via time machine lands them all in a huge USSR/Scrin/GLA showdown.
Overlord on Mammoth action? hawt

Why would you mention the scrin over NOD or GDI
Why would you even acknowledge the existence of the scrin
Tiberium ended in Tiberian Sun.
Tiberian Sun was my favourite, although C&C3 wasn't that bad. It was just utterly unremarkable.

Eh, the scrin have been canon since Sun. Ea's implementation of them... that left something to be desired, though.
As far as I'm concerned the last good games in the series were TibSun, RA2 and Generals. C&C3 was alright but the aesthetics were all wrong, it was nowhere near gritty enough. The scrin were terrible too. It had some cool concepts but ultimately failed to live up to TS if you ask me. Anything beyond that is just pure drivel, I hope this new one is better.
To me the Nod ending of Tiberian Sun was the final chapter for the Tiberium saga.
Didn't they have Kane kill Stalin at the end of RA1 though? The universes already interacted, and many people speculated this meant that Tiberium took place in the world of future RA.

Wait a minute, that's the Soviet ending, which is non-canon.

Am I right to say the main guys that did RA2 had a heavy hand in making C&C3, not those that did TS/TS:F?
idk must be because most of the original team left in the EA merger. rip westwood
Renegade 2

Red Alert 2 was mostly done by EA, iirc. They just heavily modified the engine Westwood made and retconned the links between TD and RA.
RA2 is a fun as fuck game, and a good CNC, but storyline wise it shits all over what Westwood planned.

I was really looking forward to seeing more of the Scrin. The architecture from TS made it look really alien and Giger-like.
Then we got the purple-tendril clusterfuck of CNC3.
Renegade 2
Don't remind me about Tiberium. I'm still pissed that got cancelled because it didn't "meet their standards."
Guess they forgot about that when they made CNC4.

Where were they canon? The big "alien ship" you find in the GDI campaign is actually the Nod prototype that Vega crashed.
You had concept art left by Westwood, but it never came into the games as far as I remember.

Because firestorm aknowledged there existance?
To be honest, all of EA cncs were fairly good games overall, not counting tib4.
You had RA2 - which was basicaly the most popular RA
Generals - by many considered the best CnC
Tib3 - while fairly spammy still a pretty nice game with decent lore and a decent SP campaign
KW - much better SP campaign
RA3 - great MP gameplay, questionable artstyle, utterly terrible campaign
And then you have tb4- which was apparently plagued from massive internal issues about people who wanted to quit and make a game as cheap as possible.
That four successes, one okay game and one awful. Not as bad.

Renegade? That was still pretty decent.
Renegade? That was still pretty decent.
Only the multiplayer. The singleplayer was utter trash.

Probably nostalgia goggles but I loved Renegade's SP

I thought RA2 was absolute shit, but I appear to be in a minority. RA3 as well. The only good RA was 1, and that was brilliant.
If you take Ra2 seriously you're doing it wrong.
[editline]24th August 2013[/editline]
aka it's fun as fuck, hell it had a huge mod community kinda similar to Wc3, Td and shit.
Renegade? That was still pretty decent.
Renegade was set during the events of Tiberian Dawn.

Native American tribes who've reformed the Iroquois Confederacy. This could work.

Sounds a lot like North America in Shadowrun.

Or a revived Mexican Empire.
Or some kind of mormon faction if you want weirder shit.

They broke the game after release but over time they got nerfed anally. Mothership can be taken down with a handful of Pitbulls or Venoms and everything from buzzers all the way to the Trihardpod lives in fear of having to fight basic rocket troops. Don't even get me started on how Scrin players reacted when the Devastator Warship had it's rate of fire reduced 200%...
There's so much silliness in Command & Conquer, the presence of aliens really doesn't bother me.
I really, really enjoyed Tiberium wars and RA3

To me the best part about Generals/ZH were the mods, vanilla Zero Hour and Generals got pretty bland quickly.
Generals and ZH were the last CnC games to have a large number of popular/successful mods, for examples you have Rise of the Reds, Shockwave, MidEast Crisis, Cold War Crisis(was never really a fan of this one, but it was popular), The End of Days, All Stars, Tiberian Dawn and Sun Redux, and Blitzkrieg II
The Command and Conquers that came after Generals/ZH that were modifiable had very few successful mods most notable being Tiberium Essence and CnC:Fallout for Tiberium Wars and Paradox for RA3, but after Red Alert 3 with that bastard child known as Tiberian Twilight is when EA started to take up their current anti-mod stance.
