That thing that flashes at the end looks like the human version of a Falmer (Skyrim enemy)
Oh goodie, a companion app. I didn't use one for CoD. I didn't use one for GTAV. I'm not using one for this.
I dunno; the music for that was a bit too dramatic and actiony for what's supposed to be a stealth game. I just hope they don't fuck this up as terribly as I fear they might. However, it's kind of a nice touch that they followed that last thread from the previous game, where Garrett countered a pickpocket attempt by an orphan girl, mirroring his own origins; looks like he took her under his wing, like the Keeper did for him all those years ago. Pity that she dies right at the beginning though. Also, I'm hoping that the Hammerites and Pagans are back this time around.
What if she's not actually dead
Eh, they'll probably pull that twist, though if that's the case she either got brainwashed by the cultists or became the vessel for whatever eldritch abomination they were summoning. It'd certainly be a surprise if she came back from whatever happened there and filled in the role of a magick-infused sidekick, though it'd be unlikely that she'd accompany you since AI companions and stealth don't mix too well, unless she's stealthing in a different location in the level whilst you take on the other part.

Having those would just be too Thief.
"Your city needs you" Yes this sort of thing is exactly what I want in a game about being a thief.
Looks decent, but not Thievy.
companion apps are a waste of everything
Companion apps are dumb as fuck. I could understand it as some sort of teaser they whipped up quickly but they serve no purpose after the game released. Even worse when they try to force something exclusive or meaningful in the app that will only work to a percentage of people. [sp]Fuck you, GTA[/sp] [editline]8th December 2013[/editline] Also, the vid player is shitting itself every time it buffers.
Everything needs a companion app these days.
Eh, I thought the AC4 companion app was kinda neat. Having a map open all the time was useful.
They mentioned a "City hub" that you can explore and rob in the VGX announcement. An open world-ish thief combined with linear levels sounds kinda cool, actually. Hopefully it comes with NewGame+ as well. I actually have some hope for this.
During the pre-show they mentioned a mysterious old woman who is "As old as the city herself" and is the subject of countless rumors. Gee, I wonder who this reminds me of...

If they've ditched all the magic, hammerites, pagans, keepers and all that stuff, why would they leave Gamall hanging around? That's just stupid on their part.
