Knuckles hurt after using punching bag (+other stuff)

So, I have a punching bag downstairs in my basement that I use from time to time. Unfortunately, though, I can't go any longer than like ten minutes with my knuckles starting to hurt. I'm not a boxer or anything (in fact this mostly for stress relief/when I feel like it) but to anyone that boxes or has a heavy bag, is their any protective gear? I hear wraps are good though. If you know your stuff about punching bags, help me out a bit.
The pain means it's working.

But I don't wanna go at it for just a few minutes at time. :( I want something to help at least soften the pain somewhat so I can ignore it.
have you considered using bag gloves
You're supposed to use gloves while using a punching bag. Boxing gloves will do the trick
Glue broken glass to the sides of the bag. It helps, trust me.
I box.
Use wraps. Use gloves. Don't go bareknuckle.

I'll look into getting a pair. Thanks.
I liked using the boxing tape/wrap as opposed to gloves. The tape you can find for under $10, gloves might be $60 + but obviously better for protection.
Also the wraps give a nice firm feel, easy to learn as well.
After a few months or a year or so you can probably do bare knuckle and it won't hurt at all, but it still damages your hands pretty bad.
I even broke a few bones like that lol

Get these.
Even 3-year olds know to use boxing gloves.
But you wont be able to serve the revenge cold ?
You can do it without the gloves too, but you need to keep doing it a lot for your knuckles to properly harden.
But yeah, i recommend them MMA gloves. (what Chonch suggested)
Develop those callus, you pussy.
MMA gloves or boxing gloves?
Either work, just something to protect your knuckles.
I think MMA gloves are a lot more comfy and handy.
