Hi, this is my first build that i designed a few months back and i wanted to make SURE that i wouldnt buy all the parts, then have them not run/fit together/missing a part. here are the parts: ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM Thermaltake V6 BlacX Edition Gaming Chassis Mid Tower Steel Computer Case BlacX Top Mounted HDD Docking SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5 X2 ViewSonic VA2431WM Glossy Black 23.6" 5ms Widescreen Full HD 1080P LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers ASUS Rampage III Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard Galaxy 80XLH5HS8GUX GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card -discontinued ENERMAX REVOLUTION85+ ERV1050EWT 1050W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS SILVER -discontinued Mushkin Enhanced SP 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model 998586 Mushkin Enhanced Ridgeback 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model 996902 Intel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80601930 -discontinued Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - OEM Noctua NH-U12P SE2 120mm SSO CPU Cooler also, if im getting anything i dont need, please tell me.
Few months ago? The prices will be really outdated. What's your budget and location?
hmm, my budget would be AROUND 1700. but im hoping that the prices will have dropped significantly [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] lol, im looking at the cost of the previously 300 dollar hard drive, and now its only 60 bucks [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] it would appear as though Galaxy 80XLH5HS8GUX GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card is discontinued, know a viable replacement? [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] updated the op with everything that was discontinued, need some suggestuions on what to get instead
1700 what? [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] also instead of a 480 get a 570/6970 or with your budget (assuming it's usd) I suppose you can even go for a 590/6990 or whatever that's called when they release [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] OK, so you're in the US huh $1550, take a look and if you're interested I can give you links
thanks for the help. the current build that i made, removing all outdated and nonexistent stuff, is this: Thermaltake V6 BlacX Edition Gaming Chassis Mid Tower Steel Computer Case BlacX Top Mounted HDD Docking Station VM100M1W2Z SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive ViewSonic VA2431WM Glossy Black 23.6" 5ms Widescreen Full HD 1080P LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers COOLMAX CL-700B 700W ATX 12V v2.2 Compatible with Core i3/i5/i7 Power Supply Mushkin Enhanced SP 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model 998586 ASUS Rampage III Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - OEM Noctua NH-U12P SE2 120mm SSO CPU Cooler I think thats all I will need, correct me if im wrong
That was a fucked up post, could you try to clean it up so it's easier to read?

Get a PSU that's a little better brand, like Corsair or something.
if you really need an i7 stick this combo in my build http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.576622
an i7 is desireable, because i plan on tons of multitasking/game multitasking/rendering software and 3d modeling. im trying to shoot for higher specs on slightly older stuff so its not super expensive but not shit. [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] and yeah, im using ie unfortunately [editline]27th January 2011[/editline]
Links http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185 (x2) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236059 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121412 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277 (x2) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116754 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103057 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136183 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227550 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.584777 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.576622&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3640869&SID=skim629X1198Xe68876e451fb4b456ad7601ef16319f3 [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] as for the image it's because you're using IE, I think
youre suggesting i only get 4gb of ram?

case? [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] motherboard and cpu as well
thats weird, it cut the case, motherboard, and cpu out [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] aah, it listed the combo deals seperate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.576624 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.584777 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236059 were left out
Ok, I feel like a moron. I was going to buy all these parts today, but now when I click on the combo deal links, it won't display and I can't find a post here that said what they were. Anyone remember what the CPU and motherboard were? (eventually I'll get the hang of this, I swear.)
Sorry, the combo deal is no longer available.
this is why we say don't make threads until one week max before you buy
Yeah, as I said I'm still getting the hang of it.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
