www.memoryexpress.com This isn't a very big company, unlike Newegg, but I seem to always get better prices on everything in the end (after taxes and shipping, which shipping is often free). Just my personal recommendation. Newegg has some more brands, and more stock, but this site usually has what I need from brands I prefer. Another thing, sometimes prices are more than on Newegg, BUT, shipping is always free(if it is over $39.99 and under 50lbs), unlike Newegg where it is only on some items. Also, the free ground shipping is super fast. If you live in Canada, give it a shot.
NCIX is fine enough for me.
Looks good if you're located on the west coast. That place has a bit better prices than a place I go to in Ottawa called PC Cyber - http://pccyber.com/?v=Home With the free shipping do you get a tracking number or anything though? Especially since I'm on the other side of the country I'd like to know where my hardware is actually going.
I prefer NCIX. Supporting small companies is nice, but I like having a sense of security when I order something. And now that they have a Warehouse in Ontario, my orders ship much faster.
Looks good, I'm on the west coast, I'll try them out later
Nice to see a computer parts store in Calgary. I'll add it to my list of CAD stores.
newegg.ca usually has better prices than ncix but ncix you can pricematch [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] bestdirect usually has good prices and free shipping on orders over a certain amount of money i don't remember
eBay prices > All retails stores
returning item is sketchy on ebay though
Memory Express is great. It's nice having a brick and mortar company in Calgary that has competitive prices and knowledgeable staff in regards to computers. That being said i've yet to have a bad experience from ncix, newegg.ca, or tigerdirect.
Some stuff seems to be a little more expensive, though some similar to newegg.ca. Whenever I can, I order from newegg.ca if the item in question is shipping from their warehouse in Mississauga, as I can get stuff in one to two days.
woah they have a warehouse in mississauga i live in sauga
woah they have a warehouse in mississauga i live in sauga
Order something in the early morning and see how long it takes to reach you. You know, for fun.
Price Matching is the best part of them.
I live in rural newfoundland, everything takes a week and a half regardless of where it's coming from and what shipping I choose.
Since there are three stores in Calgary I usually shop at Memory Express, though I always check for deals at NCIX before I do, since you can get stuff much cheaper there sometimes. (Though it is really convenient to just go look around the store after I get off my bus for school) [editline]16th October 2010[/editline] They also have a pretty great warranty system in place, got several defective items swapped out instantly.
There's only 3 in Calgary
Fixed it.

I had a defective 9600gt once, I sent mine in, they sent a new one out to me before my broken one got to them. Also, they do have a store in Winnipeg now, and Richmond BC, as they are primarily west.
Well I'm all the way over in Labrador. I wish somebody would open a warehouse or walk-in store around here. :(
Ncix advanced store price match is godly, I tried it today, match with newegg no problem, they dont even count the price of shipping in either
I would love to use NCIX more, though I HATE their site. They need thumbnails displayed for each image (Sized at 90-100 px square), improved search and the ability to filter stuff down. It's great if you know EXACTLY what you want, though if you go in there thinking "I need a computer case between $25 and $50", you're going to have a hard time time finding something. You get a list of their top 10, then a list by manufacturer or price. You also get the option of choosing by size, though if you have a MicroATX motherboard it would normally fit in ATX cases, but you have to make the search twice in both sections as their site is so counterintuitive. When I bought my Razer Deathadder from them 2 years ago, they were quick and had great customer support when I had a problem with my order... But I knew exactly was I was buying.

Newegg tries to charge extra shipping fees when I buy two or more items. :(
What I love about Memory express (The local store here in Winnipeg) is they don't try to stuff products down your throat that you don't need like the other 3 Computer shops. They ask what you want, not ram the top of the line shit at you.
Other Computer Stores: Bah, that ram you picked sucks. Me: But it fits my needs so why can't I use it? Other Computer Stores: Because Corsair/OCz ram is automatically better. Me: Why? Other Computer Stores: Because the heat fans on the corsair ram help deal with issues you'll likely have :smug: Me: I'd like to grab some g.skill ripjaws please. Memory Express: Let me just grab that, want a price match so you can get a cheaper price? Me: :smug:
Other Computer Stores: Because the heat fans on the corsair ram help deal with issues you'll likely have :smug:
this is coming from the idiot who put $150 corsair dominator in a build
this is coming from the idiot who put $150 corsair dominator in a build
they're only $105 now
Order something in the early morning and see how long it takes to reach you. [editline]17th October 2010[/editline] (the item was cheap so since best buy has free ship on everything it was a better deal than everywhere else)
Memory express is great. I can't find anything better in Calgary for computer parts.
this is coming from the idiot who put $150 corsair dominator in a build
No I didn't.
