I really like games like Dark Messiah that have good first-person RPG combat, but... I don't think it's a good sign that most of that promotional video was spent backing away from enemies. Blocking, parrying, and sidestepping are more visually and functionally interesting, but they only work with good hitboxes and enemy behavior. Showcasing backing up as the only method of avoiding damage doesn't bode well.
The visuals seem very lackluster.

The Skyrim trailers showcased what's impressive about Skyrim; the graphics and worldbuilding. If Hellraid has a giant, beautiful world, or some other incredibly redeeming quality such as good RPG advancement or plot, then sure, I'll forgive the wonky-looking combat in no time flat.

Skyrim is pretty slow at times. or maybe combat like dead island had, who knows. Trailer doesn't really look that fast paced, looks panicky though.

This reveal trailer really isn't the best compared to the straight gameplay feed. [quote=Polygon ; Russ Pitts] At one point I'm surrounded by chattering skeletons, slashing at me with the swords and bashing me with their shields. A quick dash maneuver and a jump and I'm climbing over the skeletons, using them as a ladder, then I'm behind them where I can pop off their heads with my lightning staff, one-by-one. It never stops being a good time. I'm hoping that the story, whenever Techland is willing to talk more about it, will be worthy of the experience. The melee weapon hitboxes look pretty damn wonky still, but the pacing looks pretty good.
This game reminds me of Hexen since I first saw it.
Well its inspiration is games like Diablo 1, Hexen, and Heretic, so that makes sense.
