• Unable to set AHCI/Etc on SATA drive in BIOS
    2 replies, posted
I've got a prebuilt HP Pavillion A6200n desktop which I've frankensteined into a system with a new power supply and gpu. I'm trying to make a hackintosh out of it and to do so I need to set my SATA drive to AHCI. I asked a different website and their suggestion was to update the bios. There are no bios updates for my computer that I can find (it's an ECS Nettle2...? that's all I know about it). The HP website serves no help and neither does google. I'm running XP if it matters. AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+.
Not all motherboards support AHCI. If you can't find it in the documentation, it probably doesn't exist on your motherboard, or is disabled by the OEM for one reason or another.
Run away!
