Hey all Background: Installed new PSU 2 weeks ago, incase this is relevant. Anyway, I started up a game of Marvel Heroes but accidentally clicked the Opera icon while Marvle Heroes was loading. Tried to kill Opera to prevent some sort of RAM overload, and I did. Maybe 10 seconds after killing Opera, I got a BSOD. DOn't know what caused it becuase my PC shut off before I could read anything of note. Downloaded BlueScreenView and there's one dump file with this http://puu.sh/alkc0/f19cc98163.png http://puu.sh/alknf/ea3107372b.png Did Avast fuck it up or?
Avast can do this from time to time from what I hear. Try uninstalling it and instead using Microsoft security essentials.
so it's for sure Avast and not my hardware, then? Ill look into MSE then.
The bluescreen shows that avast is the origin of the driver crashing it so I'd say it was the driver for avast.
i think this BSOD fucked up my windows registry. gettin errors in a bunch of programs. ugh
If you have fixed the BSOD issues, try and run a scan on your sys files. Jump into CMD and run the following command. Might take 5-10mins, hopefully it fixes a few issues. sfc /scannow
