wait fuck [editline]6th September 2013[/editline] MAYBE it's not a bad thing I guess. regenerating health, game goes slow motion when spotted and probably 85% of the players will make this a cover-based shooter

I'm positive a good bit of the mechanics that make things easier can be disabled (or maybe automatically disabled on higher difficulties.) I just hope this game is as great as MGS5 is shaping up to be.
MGS always had a form of health regen. In MGS4 for example you could regenerate fully as long as your psyche was up.
This game is still alive? I thought its development was in limbo. I was more or less expecting its content to be integrated in MGS5.

Maybe it'll just be an elaborate tech demo for the FOX Engine?
I'm glad to know Ground Zeroes is still its own thing, means at least we get a bit more of the micromanagement gameplay that was already in Peace Walker. But in terms of gameplay, well, it honestly sounds like it lost quite a bit of its own identity during the streamlining, so I really hope stuff like pre-alert slow-mo is a difficulty thing.
hnnnnnnnnnggggraphic fidelity. I hate that subtitle font though that is so minor it isn't even funny. Playing through the first three MGS, I see why this series is so popular. I want to ask a MGS fan a question though: Are any of the fans disappointed about the move to over-the-shoulder camera as opposed to the cinematic one?

They've been gone since MGS3: Subsistence and it's quite an improvement. Can't exactly go open-world either with a fixed camera angle.

I thought Ground Zeros was to Virtuous Mission as Phantom Pain is to Snake Eater?
I hope we'll see some kind of video of this soon
(Do note, however, this demo was being played on an easier difficulty.)
Better get the feautres like alert-slow-mo and rapid regeneration to be turned off when you're playing on highest difficulty.
Better get the feautres like alert-slow-mo and rapid regeneration to be turned off when you're playing on highest difficulty.
I hope (which is doubtful) when playing on the same difficulty you can turn those features off.
I hope (which is doubtful) when playing on the same difficulty you can turn those features off.
I thought this was set back in the day so I'm not sure they have an excuse for health regen.. I liked scavenging for rations and ya know.. surviving it's gonna take the intensity right out of the game unless a small amount regenerates after each hit.. Like ya know how in fighting games they have that red part of the health bar that regenerates slowly over time! If its like that I'd be fine with it!

The regenerative health aspect is tweaked to match the difficulty of your game. Higher difficulties will mean it takes much longer to heal to the point that it isn't even viable. You'd be doing yourself a service simply proceeding through the game and grabbing any healing items you could happen across. In fact, in the boss extreme difficulty of MGS4, Snake's health regeneration is so nerfed, that relying on it will actually prevent you from acquiring the big boss rank at the end of the game. The franchise is accessible on lower difficulties, but Kojima still loves to give a challenge to longtime veterans with the higher difficulties (european extreme, TBE etc.)

Ground zero is like case west for dead rising 2.
Ground zero is like case west for dead rising 2.
But case west took place after the main game?
I mean. The other downloadable one. I forgot that there was more than one downloadable Dead rising 2. I mean the first one that takes place in the town.
I'll trust Kojima with this. Not going to jump into massive stupid /v/ grade conclusions.
I mean. The other downloadable one. Nobody has any idea what connection this has to Phantom Pain, It's Kojima. It could be a fucking iphone prequel for all we know, and honestly you can't put it past the guy
this stuff seems like all common sense for a stealth game like people get way too up in arms over tiny things and cry "wah mainstream" or "wah streamlined" when the game wouldn't fucking function without them
Nobody has any idea what connection this has to Phantom Pain, It's Kojima. It could be a fucking iphone prequel for all we know, and honestly you can't put it past the guy
Well, considering that Kojima himself said that Ground Zeroes acts as a prologue chapter for Phantom Pain akin to the tanker chapter in MGS2, I'd say that's a pretty fucking strong connection.
MGS always had a form of health regen. In MGS4 for example you could regenerate fully as long as your psyche was up.
I would seriously just sit back and listen to the iPod on boss fights and wait for my health to come back up.
Ground Zeroes
Too soon. However the game does sound interesting.
The qte they mention could just be the prompt for CQC that peace walker had, it would make sense for that to be carried over.
