My dads gf told me a few days ago a 4G version will be coming out
in the near future.. that's all the help i can give you.
announcement will be made at the WWDC next week.
Im in the UK which means Steve jobs is set to announce the new iPhone tomorrow. But i remember hearing that AT&T were doing an upgrade for the 3GS users to the new iPhone. Not sure about the 3G though.
That doesn't make sense
Why are you frustrated with your 3G? My 3G has been flawless and I'm going to wait till the next iphone (after the 4G) comes out before I even think about upgrading.
same here, I have the 3GS so I'm going to wait for 2 more generations (including the G4 iPhone) to pass before getting a new one.

I'm not sure how you do it. I couldn't deal with the lack of RAM the iPhone 3G had. When I had to use it, it was a desperate cry and a couple hundred springboard resprings in a day.

My 3G's quite fine to use, I just don't add a million mobile substrate/winterboard addons.
Hmm..if they're going to announce a new one coming out soon, I'll wait a bit before I get mine. I was thinking of getting one on Monday.

I used to use the bare minimal, even disabling unused daemons. I had about 60MB of RAM to use. Once you do anything, down to about 15MB. Take iRealSMS. After you hit the 15MB mark, you go sluggish.

Aye aye, captain.
Well, if anything I would love for them to finally upgrade the camera so I can start recording video...
the 3GS can record video, and you can "edit" it too...
Whenever I need to do something on my iPhone quickly, thats when it fails.

No shit, sherlock.
I can record 30FPS videos on the 3G as well, but it requires a thirdparty program from the App Store. I can edit them aswell by saving them to the cameraroll.
What makes me confused is that the editing interface is just the same as the one in the 3GS, but theres no support for videorecording - so why would there be a video-editing utility built in to it?

you're a dumbass. you said you want to record video with an iPhone, you already can. from what I read in you post you seemed like you didn't know it was possible.
