Since I have nothing better to spend my christmas money on, I might as well get a new computer to put in my room (right now I'm using a macbook hooked up to a Dell S2209w as my "desktop")
I have a 250gb SATA hard drive that I can use, but I still need a new optical drive. I don't really have any requirements, I'm just trying to get the most out of this budget. However, I will be using it for gaming, so don't give me some shitty integrated GPU.
So far I've come up with this:

Yeah, I installed some prntscrn utility because someone suggested it to me. Huge mistake. Haven't uninstalled it yet.

you can unlock the single core to a 440 X2 and clock it to 3.7

Can you think of any way to shave like 40 or 50 bucks off of that? I realize how tight it is already, but shipping/dvd drive may pose a problem.

OP I would try and get a ddr3 build since ddr2 is overpriced and kinda on its way out.
