So I am upgrading my PC to a nvidia surround setup instead of my old eyefinity setup which I had many problems with the graphics card and the driver software overall, I have a GTX 460 on the way in the post as a replacement so thats one less thing to pay for, current rig:
Phenom II x4 940 @ 3Ghz
4GB DDR2 2x1GB + 1x2GB
640GB HDD
GTX 460 1GB (On the way)
Cooler Master 550W PSU
HAF 932
Ideas for upgrade:
New Motherboard: http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-M3N-HT-DELUXE-Mempipe-Motherboard/dp/B0013BU5MS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=computers&qid=1285344711&sr=8-4 - £130
2nd 460: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/227172 - £165
New PSU: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/191826 - £70
I'm thinking around 650-800W should suffice for a SLi Setup and to have 4x pcie power cables and being modular would be nice.
Im going to be gaming at 4800 x 900 across 3 displays and at 1920 x 1080 on my TV, I want to know if I can make this upgrade any cheaper as it's hard finding sli motherboards that support Phenom II AM2+ and run at a minimum of 16x/8x in dual card mode.
Oh and dont come in and say "dont get a SLi setup" because to be able to have three displays it requires to have the two cards in SLi.
fuck blower fans

PSU is fine, I actually planned on using it in an i5/460 build so I can later upgrade to SLi 460s
Motherboard is a bit shit, it's overpriced and has an AM2+ socket (fine for now but won't support newer CPUs if you ever plan to upgrade). This is better and cheaper:

Well, AMD are introducing a new socket for their 8-core CPUs next year (AM3+) so the OP might as well buy whatever is good now for their chosen CPU.
It appears that you're right, although the motherboard I suggested does have USB 3.0 among other things and it's cheaper

Unless he wants three graphics cards that is
I got the computer just before xmas I dont really want to go out and get new cpu/ram as the Phenom II is performing well enough for what I use it for, and that motherboard is AM3 and my cpu is AM2+ so it wont work.
Hows this motherboard: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/200983 ? Its cheaper and comes from ebuyer so I am sure of good customer support. I dont need usb3, sata6 or any of that shit.
looks like more than enough for your needs
What about any coolers for my CPU? I have the black edition so I imagine that overclocking will be somewhat easier.

Thanks for the links, it comes to around £380 which is a fine amount
