• Steelseries Siberia v2 microphone distorting.

Hello. I bought a Steelseries Siberia v2 a year ago, and the headset & microphone is working great, however now, whenever my cable moves at the slightest, my microphone distorts in a loud way, kinda like static, yet, I didn't drop my headset or anything similar like that, I take very good care of my headset, but recently it suddenly started to happen. The cable is clean & intact, so is the headset, so is the jack plug, by the way, I am using the non-USB version Siberia v2. Also my soundcard is an Asus Xonar DS, but I am using the frontal panel to plug my jacks in. Am I missing something here ? Does anyone knows a good trick to fix a microphone when it is basically still new ?
Try the Jacks on the back as in all of my cases the front ones are terrible.
I tried to plug it in on the jacks at the back but it simply wasn't working at all, either that, or my soundcard can't figure out how to switch to the back panel microphone, and yes I unticked the "Frontpanel Mic" option.
Steel series isnt the best quality. Im pretty sure its just the contacts in the in line control. Does it happen when you touch the buttons on there, or move it around? If so. You can try and spray it with contact spray. (Or wd 40) and then moving it around for a while. If that doesnt fix it open it up and properly clean the contacts.
