It's fucked up for everyone else right
What the fuck is that gif
PCgamer broke it me thinks.
Been following this game on Twitter & Cartrdge. Lots of progress in a fairly short time.
"A lot of people in my industry say 'there's no such thing as a one-man team, a person can't make a game on their own,'"
seems like a fuckin shitty gamedev studio (it is, they made a bunch of web/mobile games for third parties) if they haven't realized some of the biggest hits these past years have been single-person efforts. Stardew Valley is HUGE. Unturned is massive with the youtuber crowd and kids. Minecraft started off as a single-person pet project, as did many Zachtronics games, and Dwarf Fortress.
that ooblet game looks neat
It looks like something I'd play. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
Their "marketing first" approach seems highly reminiscent of no man's sky...
They aren't backed by a marketing giant, I'd say the wording is of poor choice due to the stigma of marketing that's commonplace with AAA developers. If anything, it's style first, gameplay afterward. In a sea of indie titles, what matters is finding a way to stand out. Hardly anyone will give the time of day to a generic-looking "retro pixels" game when they can latch their eyes onto something with its own distinct spin to aesthetics. Don't Starve, Darkest Dungeon, Katamari Damacy, Parappa the Rapper, Limbo, Team Fortress 2. These games all grab you by the eyes and set a flag in the sand for "we look different." Now, that's not to say that looking different is enough to sell a game on. But it certainly gets heads turning enough to justify an impulse following rather than being drowned out amidst the rest vying for attention.
How PCGamer inspired the creator of PCGamer to quit PCGamer.
I don't think the gif is broke, more so our perception of the 4th Dimension is broke, this is what it looks like to us as our minds just can't handle it.
Sorry for being off topic, but is this seriously the first time people have seen a broken gif?
very pleasant looking game.
