Name some things that are ironic about anything you can think of. For example, in FP, someone posts something bannable and gets tons of funnies, winners etc., effectively proving mods don't care what rest of the posters thought about the bannable post. Or maybe you heard someone fling shit at someone's favourite TV show while they watch Power Rangers or collect Transformers toys themselves. One ironic thing this site in general is heavily guilty of is that they hate memeshit while they love memeshit. To be fair, the memeshit FP likes is more refined in an odd way, Ainsley and Descartes as examples on the contrary to the colorless black and white memefaces and middleground Gangnam Style.
I'm fairly sure the last two are hypocrisy, not irony. The way I understand it, it's ironic if somebody is preaching against drug use and then their son is busted for possession of drugs, but it's hypocritical if they themselves are busted for possession of drugs. I might be entirely wrong, though. Irony vs hypocrisy seems to be a difficult differentiation to make.

Saying that something sucks as in 'it's bad' is the same as saying something blows.
Jesus got nailed on a wooden cross, even tho he was a carpenter. I think that's ironic.
A traffic jam when you're already late A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife It's meeting the man of my dreams And then meeting his beautiful wife And isn't it ironic...don't you think

the democrats supporting minorities (its a history joke, their founding platform was pro-slavery) on a less racist/political note, getting run over by an ambulance ok still morbid, lets try something cheerfully ironic.... cancling a tv show on the grounds that it is not popular, then repetidly use it's characters and images to advertise your network (ZIM IS LOOKING AT YOU NICKELODEON)
Buds in TF2 are pricey and rare because nobody buys a Mac for gaming.
on a less racist/political note, getting run over by an ambulance
I got hit by an ambulance once. Granted, it was pretty minor since they were going slow and not rolling out, sirens-a-fuckin'-blaring.
a heart surgeon dying of heart failure, ohshit i can't think of cheery ones right now firetruck having an engine fire, siri recomending the HTC ONE X as the best smartphone

From the start, we (the audience) are aware that Romeo and Juliet will die, but they themselves are not aware until their deaths. Well, you never stated what kind of irony we were talking about, did you?
