So, I need a new computer but don't want to deal with building one. Prebuilts ahoy. Is [url=http://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/Online/SecondaryInventorySearch.aspx?rn=1107&SC=&c=us&cs=28&l=en&s=dfb]this a good desktop for gaming and the likes?[/url] not sure whether to put this here or in PC building but since this isn't really 'building' one... yeah. [editline]4:44[/editline] If it doesn't show up (Dell links seem to 404 for me alot) these are the specs; # OptiPlex 980 Minitower Base Up to 90 Percent Efficient Power Supply # Processor: Intel Core i5-650M Processor (3.20GHz,4M cache) # Genuine Windows 7 Professional # 500 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM) # 8 GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz (2 DIMMs) # 16X DVD +/- RW w/dbl layer write capability # Dual 256MB ATI RADEON HD 3450 Graphics Quad VGA and TV Out for $759.00
Don't need 8GB RAM, get 4GB instead and get a decent graphics card.
No it's not. I have the HD3450 in my laptop not a desktop and the CPU is a mobility (laptop) processor. [editline]21st October 2010[/editline] and the GPU isn't that great either.
then I need a decent prebuilt that doesn't completely suck. not looking for top of the line, just something that can run a good majority of things on decent settings. [editline]21st October 2010[/editline] also this makes me trust you just a little bit less [img]http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/4529/64966501.jpg[/img]
Worst deal ever, boyo [editline]21st October 2010[/editline] I know pre-builts that look at least better than this shit
yeah, I know absolutely shit about computer hardware. So what [i]should[/i] I get.
If you want to have an gaming computer but doesn't want to "explode" your budget from pre-built, it's better to build it yourself. Goto PC build and ask for a good build of gaming (what kind of game that your planning to play)
Really depends of your real budget of course, but that will let you having an idea about it [editline]22nd October 2010[/editline] -automerge broken-
Yeah, just build one, seriously. It's like fucking lego. And there's not much to deal with, I'm sure a few extra hours of your life would be worth a better overall quality of life.
