Looks like they had a lot of conventional disc copies going spare.
Is DA:I even good? DA:O is one of my all time favorite games but I just cannot trust bioware to make a good game after DA2 and ME3, I haven't heard anything good about TOR either. All I've heard about this game is that it's a mixture of good and bad where the bad parts are unspeakably bad and the good parts are amazing.
better than da2 and me3 but still not better than 1
those old animations are still being used and the choices are really clearcut goodguy/evilmonster bullshit we've all seen them do for forever now
I found DA2 to be okay for only a single playthrough because its incredibly linear, and the character customization is non existant, but the new combat system and animations and whatnot were pretty fun
Dragon Age 2 is fine. The reused zones, wave-based encounters, and general buginess sucked, but the actual story part of the game was pretty good because it wasn't some SAVE THE FUCKING WORLD AGAIN story, but was instead a much more personal story focused on ONE city. It was a refreshing change of pace. The combat was fine, pretty much a faster version of Origins', the idea of choosing a personality for yourself as opposed to "good or bad" was interesting, Kirkwall was an interesting setting, and the characters (with the exception of what they did to Anders) were pretty good. Also the game was made in one fucking year. That alone makes DA2 a fucking incredible feat.
People give it way more shit than it deserves. It's a shame.
it wasn't terrible but imo the amount of reused zones really killed it for me, ontop of the overly forced romance shit that the bioware fanbase urged them to do
It's no more forced or awkward as anything in any Bioware game since or prior.
And like every other Bioware romance it's completely optional. So yeah.
tbh the fact you could slip and click an option in a regular conversation and be bumfucked by GayMageMcSexGuy was hilarious
But also, to be fair, in DA2 the romance options literally have a giant picture of a heart next to them, so they're pretty damn easy to avoid.

I haven't played the game, just watched a lot of DA2 on youtube and such and the amount of reused environments and enemy placements alone made me decide that even if it was an okay game, I wouldn't play it.
I hate doing the same encounter endlessly. Switch it up at least. And it seemed like DA2 never did that
Honestly I'm very excited for this. If it were on Steam, it'd be a day 1. Straying from the Origin vs Steam debate, I'm just a hardcore Bioware fan and I love all of theirs games. If I can enjoy ME3, I'm sure I'll love DA:I.
Yes, DA:I is awesome. It's not the same as DA:O, but it's up on that par.
I honestly really don't get the shit this game gets. I thought it was a pretty damn good RPG.
As said before: it's better than DA2, but I can't say that it's better or worse than DA:O. It's less in the area's of combat moves diversity, but stronger in characters IMO.
One of the few downsides from DA:I I can think of is the repetiveness of some quests, for example the "close the rifts in x" or the "collect all the shards in y". And the fact that the combat is much simpler (less skills you can equip at a time, and no heal skills), yet much smoother than both previous games.
Have to add though, I finished the last DLC for inquisition several days ago, and it was excellent. It is so rewarding when you've played through inquisition for it all to come to a final conclusion of the game (and it most likely also shows the location where the next game will take place!). I personally find that the strong suit of DA:I comes in the fact that it takes with much of the experiences you had in DA:O and DA2, and it's really interesting to encounter or to discover the consequences of your actions from the previous games.
If I had to sum up the experiences I had from all the games, I'd say that I enjoyed DA:I the most.
