Well, I have read tons of tutorials and none of them work, for java i was told to type "sudo apt-get install sun-java5-jdk " in the terminal, I did so and I was asked for my password but the keyboard didn't respond when I tried to enter it.
Then I tried installing flash from that program download that is included. I clicked "use this source" but nothing happened. All it does is updating the cache.
Help please :saddowns:
have you tried using Synaptic to install it?
Thanks, that worked for flash player, but when searching for java I get a million different packages. Which one should I download?

It is common practice to not show the passwords during entry, do not worry about it not showing.
Ok, thanks. They should have made it so it becomes ******* or something instead of nothing so I at least know that I am typing.
sun-java6-jre and sun-java6-bin
