Rumor has it that there will be $1000 PC + Rift + Touch bundles to go with it, just basing off previous bundle costs. That includes free games, too.
So has the rift gotten any better in comparison to the vive? I heard it had some weird tracking issues and didn't do spatial tracking very well.
Everyone I've seen with a rift has said the spacial tracking issues are a myth
3-sensor tracking was buggy for a few weeks for some users, but they've ironed out those issues and even advertise 3-sensor "roomscale" bundles now. In my experience two sensors are almost perfect; a third sensor for an additional 60$ gets you Vive-quality tracking. If we're comparing features, the Rift has a better head strap and audio built in, which you have to pay an additional $100 on the already $800 Vive to have. Until the "knuckles" controller prototype is released as a product, the Rift also has undeniably better controllers (Touch). HTC has claimed in the past few months that they have no intentions of lowering their price, but maybe they'll change their mind given these heavy discounts.
Can confirm that having 3 sensors works very well. I can play SteamVR roomscale games like the budget cuts demo without issue. If you want in on Vr, either get the current $399 summer sale bundle or wait until Gen 2 (probably late 2018). It's extremely hard to reccomend a Vive now.

If you are still considering the vive, I would suggest waiting a bit to see if they drop their price at least
