I'd certainly be interested in seeing how they'd do a Metroid-style title. It wouldn't be too far off from what they know, and hey, I'm kind of a sucker for stuff like Symphony of the Night and Axiom Verge.
Shovelroid.
Nail Gunner
I'd kill for a true classic shooter.
Shovel Knight 64
I would absolutely adore Shovel Knight 64. We've got more than enough 2d platformers, make a 3d one.

Shovel Kart when If they make another Kickstarter, i am sure as hell going to back it. The game is near perfect and they are still making the free crap they promised on the Kickstarter. Not to mention that the "Plague of shadows" dlc is as good as the actual game itself.

Megaknight. Megaman fans could use a bone right now after MN9.
I agree. Shovel Knight alone showed a great attention to detail that I think would lend itself perfectly to a Super Mario 64 style game.
I think as far as their strengths go, I'm not entirely sure about the designers' ability with 3D stage design because we've yet to see what they've got going on. I'd still like to see what they're capable of but there's a point where you want the entire team to be utilizing their potential as best they are most-familiar with. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure that they would be wonderfully competent at crafting something good. The takeaway is that 2D design and 3D design, in terms of both gameplay and in terms of stage crafting are entirely different fields. Some concepts just don't work out the same way when you make that shift of adding another dimension. And they've definitely shown that they're competent with creating mostly linear obstacle course-type stages so I want to see them still working within that strength but diverging a bit to broaden their resumes. Now that's not to say that it's unheard of to do that in a 3D space. Crash Bandicoot and Super Mario 3D Land and World are both great examples of how linear obstacle courses can exist in a 3D space without being free-roaming 3D like SM64 or Spyro the Dragon. Now, I'm still going to be wholly excited for whichever they wind up creating next. But thinking realistically I am enamored by their current strengths and want to see them expand those strengths further rather than uproot them for something that might wind up risking too much. I hold a similar opinion on the story-oriented options offered in the poll. Not because I think their writing is bad, I am a man who appreciates well-executed puns, but the storylines they created were simple enough to not hog the spotlight but were still touching nonetheless in their own rights. Depends on what kind of story they're thinking of. Serious subject matter is a lot more difficult to execute well and I'd like to see other work by their writers before passing any judgement on what I envision as their potential. Now that they've cemented themselves as a hit, I want to see just how far they can take this ball and run with it before creating some definitive "final" game within the genre once they feel that they've exhausted all of their creative ideas and manpower and want to explore their next frontier. I'm sure with their reputation they'd get more than enough funding to continue doing what they do well. Maybe even with their relationship with Nintendo as a publishing body they'd be getting an additional helping hand. Who knows at this point.
Shovel Party 3
I'd love a Shovel Knight RPG with writing in the style of the Paper Mario games. Would definitely help to satiate the drought of actual good Paper Mario games.:v:

I for one would like to see more good "MRPGs" like Thousand Year Door, Superstar Saga, and the South Park RPGs.
Shovel Knight 64
They have to do Super Shovel Knight before they do Shovel Knight 64.
I'd kind of like the two more campaigns for shovel knight promised on kickstarter before we start talking about shovel knight two...
Shovel Knight 2 or a Shovels of Rage game. former could just be a Black/Shovel knight affair with a Megaman & Bass-type gameplay. (Black Knight could have Amnesia, he gains abilities by being reminded by fighting specific bosses) the latter could just be a straight up platform brawler akin to Streets of Rage, River City Ransom and Scott Pilgrim vs the World; heck, if the plot is uniting various knights from planes of existence then they could even give ambitions/dialogue to the Knights you play as whilst leaving the door open for crossover Knights. (Looking at you Meta Knight). Have locales with their own plot and you beat stages surrounding the area, you quick travel to town just to upgrade armors and add minor effects to your attacks. or they'd just have branching paths like Star Fox 64, where they can stick the crossover characters as post-game/hidden scenarios. if Shovel Knight has large reception, i probably wouldn't mind Fire Emblem characters in there, if just limited to just Marth and Ike....unless Nintendo pushes Corrin/Robin in due to their larger sales status. May not even have to be limited to Knights, could just be protectors. Igarashi and WayForward would be all over it if Bloodstained/Shantae could rep in there.
16 bit Shovel Knight
Didn't like shovelknight too much, wasn't my type of game though so that's understandable probably the most refined recent platformer I've experienced however. These are TALENTED devs.
Make anything you magnificent bastards. I'm sure I'll love it
I would absolutely adore Shovel Knight 64. Then after that they'd make Shovel Knight 64- for authenticity, it would be an awful 3D platformer and kill the series. :v:

After the disappointment of MN9, it would be nice to see a jump and shoot platformer done right.
