• Need help connecting to wireless internet

I'm trying to connect to my school's wireless internet. I have a username and password but my computer never prompts for them and thus I can't connect. I'm using windows XP. If someone can guide me on how to do this, I'd appreciate it. Here's what the wireless manger looks like. Tell me what to do :(
First off, try to use Windows Default Wifi Manager. It's not a good idea to allow a 3rd party App to control the wifi.
It's more than likely that your school's network has the "Secure" network setup to log you into a domain, which then connects the wireless network with the internal LAN. This gives access to local servers and administrative functions and such, so it's going to be a little trickier to connect to the secure network. With that network utility, I can't tell whether or not the Secure network has any actual encryption or security on it, but if it's anything like the school I work at, it will be secured. The computer more than likely has to be joined to the domain by a network administrator before being able to connect to the network. If I remember correctly network auth is Open, the encryption standard is WEP, and key is provided automatically is checked. Also there is P-EAP authentication, and IT security has certificates for mobile devices that cannot be joined to a windows domain. Typically private secure networks like that are in place to make district officials' life easier, and give wireless access to administrators who are observing classrooms with mobile devices, and need access to internal software services for reporting and other such administrative duties.
