i don't know why devs keep letting this happen to them public recognition is great but the end result of cease and desist is obvious if you want to make a project like this, the only thing you can do is work on it anonymously
they didn't want to finish the game, they wanted it on their portfolio and to get exposure
good point seems a bit dishonest to boost your career off of someone else's concept though
Looks really awesome though, i remember the rumors of a MGS 1 remake and i would like a remake on the FOX engine but seeing the current state of the Metal Gear franchise / IP....
With Kojima gone you can pretty much bury mgs for now.

I stopped reading when i saw the word "Announced". Sure they were probably doing it for exposure but i still can't believe people haven't learned yet.

We don't even know if any real gameplay was made the trailer footage could be entirely staged. Stuff like this gets you recognized but unless it's exceptional you probably aren't going to get anywhere good.
Surprise! Fan remakes are a waste of time and resources and rarely lead anywhere. Why not take the games you love, let them inspire you and make something original and true to it? It's what Kojima was doing all the time, he didn't simply copy Blade Runner and it's plot, he took the parts he liked, combined them with other influences and created Snatcher. Same goes for Freedom Planet, Undertale, Stardew Valley... they are heavily inspired by the games they love but they stand out as original products without the fear of every getting taken down do to copyright issues.

I love MGS but its age really shows, and it would have been nice to relive a more modern version.

It's the same as music, one of the best ways to learn to write is to remake some of your favorite songs to learn why they worked. It helps on a mechanical level.

I'm making it because there is no modern Star Trek game that does the interiors of things justice. There's a difference between remaking a game and keeping the style exactly the same and remaking a game in a new engine with completely new graphics and assets to bring the old story/gameplay into the next generation. Undertale and Stardew are different because they are done in the same style as the games they're inspired by, which comparatively takes far less work than high-fidelity 3D artwork. [editline]7th March 2016[/editline] However since it's a waste of time I should just stop and delete everything, right?
