Hi,
Just building a computer for my grandparents, about to order the parts and wanted to triple check that they are all going to work together.

I don't need any suggestions for other parts unless something is not compatible.
Thanks.
Typo in the title
Why do they need a quad core? Why not get a slighter cheaper CPU and get better RAM or something?
As I said, I and they are happy with these parts - I only want to know if they work fine.
If all they want is to browse the web then you may as well save about £75 and go for an Athlon X2 build
Oh, my bad. Yeah it all looks good.

Thanks, but no thanks.

You just recommended three more expensive parts, none of which are particularly better than the ones I posted. I will say it once more: What I have is fine, we need no more than 80GB and the quad core is for future proofing, this is expected to last at least 8 years.

what are you talking about
your PSU is shit, this is the thing supplying power to the rest of the parts and a shitty one is far more likely to fuck up and take out other parts with it
I found a 3x larger HDD for the same price
you case is shitty, casecoms come out of the factory in a state of falling apart
[editline]09:19PM[/editline]
and Q8___s won't be doing anything worthwhile in 8 years, hell they're hardly brilliant now
Is this going to be used for gaming?
you're awfully quick to dismiss advice for someone who isn't even able to check parts work together correctly
damnit automerge

As I said, I wanted to triple check. I was pretty much sure that they all worked, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't made a silly mistake.

Besides, this computer is for a couple who are both nearing 80 years old, they don't need anything more than a computer for checking email and browsing the web, I just wanted to make sure it would last them a good few years.
The most intensive thing this will be used for is youtube.
Get the PSU he suggested. You want a high quality PSU so it won't just fail on you.

Get them a Dual core AMD CPU. You don't need a quad core for web browsing.
You should upgrade your grandparents while you're at it.
I bet that guy regrets posting this. All he wanted to know was weather it would fit, maybe he just plain wants a quad core processor? I have a computer with a dual core and it's slow as shit doing everyday tasks, so I could understand him wanting a quad core.
You must have a shitty dual core then.
I have an old single core at 2.4 GHz and it's good for everyday tasks. It only has issues with HD Youtube videos.
Hell, you can game with a good dual core.
I really would like to know why facepunchers are so stubborn.
I asked for something very simple. The PSU I ordered is from a fairly good brand.
My grandparents have a maximum budget of £400 which, including the monitor, has already been reached.

In answer to your original question, yes all the parts work together. However like you said you want your build to last, if you buy cheap components it won't. This CPU is compatible with all your components:

It will save you £25 which you can use to get reapaninja's parts and make sure your build lasts
