My mom and stepdad own a car dealership together and I can tell you from hearing it and from hearing them talk about it that it really only sounds stupid when you pretend you know what you're talking about when you don't

Or have to break out the oxyacetylene because those annoying fucking exhaust manifold bolts REFUSE to budge after four cans of penetrating lube, three impact guns and two breaker bars all failed.

I highly doubt it will be accurate at all, and either way they're just going to mentally laugh at you when you try to use game logic to explain it.
Though, by all means, do educate yourself on how cars work. Just knowing what makes them tick(And what doesn't) will save you an absolute fortune, and most routine maintenance is simple enough to do yourself.
