This would have been so great before I moved my PS4 to the same desk my computer is under
Seems kinda pointless imo.
i've been waiting for this, because i want to play gta 5 with my crew mates, and i might "lend" the ps4 from my cousin
But like, couldn't you just plug the ps4 directly in to your monitor?
good question, how do i plug in that PS4 if it is 70km away from me
But like, couldn't you just plug the ps4 directly in to your monitor?
But like, I don't have a PS4 in every room of my house.
waited so long for this, before it was just an unofficial non-sony thing you had to pay for so I never bought into it
I can see myself using it a good deal.
I some times get put off from using my PS4 seeing as its in a different room and i'm already doing some multi tasking on my computer which i'd have to stop all just to play PS4.
It's just local streaming
Oh? Source on that?
Would be odd if they limited the PC version to Local, while mobile and PS Vita version works from anywhere.

I think they're just recommending local because it is streamed so it's using your internet. On the official Sony website, they say the PS Vita steaming works "from your local Wi-fi".

Useful for people like me who keep their PS4 hooked up to a TV not their monitor

Well it works from outside the local network too, I've been playing PS4 games via the Vita from my school. (PS4 was at home)
would we need to use the controller or will it support mouse and keyboard from pc?
would we need to use the controller or will it support mouse and keyboard from pc?
Most likely controller.
I hope it supports more than the PS4 controller though (generic controller support would be nice)
Question is when is Playstation now coming to PC?

The latency would make that completely unplayable.
The latency would make that completely unplayable.
If both houses have a good speed (especially upload speed for the PS4 house), that distance is nothing for latency
Most likely controller.

It will probably only support DS4 as an anti-piracy measure. If it supported KB+M or generic controllers, then potentially you could let anyone play on your PS4 and they wouldn't have to give a cent to Sony.

But that's no worse than lending your PS4 to someone. It's just not convenient enough to be properly useful for something like that.
This is kinda nice, now I can play stuff when my girlfriend is in the mood to watch Netflix and I don't want to move the PS4. Hooray laziness!

Can't really lend your PS4 to someone in another country, but with this streaming service, you theoretically could let anyone anywhere use it.

With an unplayable amount of latency.
With an unplayable amount of latency.
Perhaps, but the thing is, they still could, and internet infrastructure will improve over time. You could probably quite easily stream to another country with fast fibre.

That really depends on how far away the country is.
