Should I switch to TekSavvy? Right now I'm freaking paying 39.99 for bullshit Rogers and don't even get up to the top speed.
I'm planning on switching to TekSavvy for 29.99 and seems better. the only thing is that Rogers is Cable and TekSavvy is DSL based.

Your download speed is fucked up but your upload isn't really, 512 kbps is 64 KB/s.
YES, I am also on Teksavvy and I am very happy with their service. Though they offer only 5Mbit down (roughly 500kb/s) the unlimited bandwidth is awesome. Plus for $4 a month you can sign up for single link MLPPP which will make your torrents and other peer to peer applications unthrottled (Bell throttles the connection because Teksavvy is leasing it from them). If you want faster and if you're willing to fork over cash for a 2nd connection you can also use MLPPP to combine your connections for double the speed too. Mind you MLPPP requires a router capable of using special MLPPP firmware, the WRT54GL is a very popular one for this.
Don't forget that their leasing a line from Bell, so they carry all the bullshit throttling rules over. Also this: http://v1.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20091021.winternet1021/BNStory/RICHARD+BLACKWELL
Have you contacted your ISP? Call them and give them a few days to sort it out. If they don't call them back, and tell them to give you a very compelling reason why you should not drop their asses.
Yeah man, bitch at your ISP, you can fix some problems that way.
Worked with me :c00l:
Just make sure that your Teksavvy has a hub nearby you or else you'll end paying for a good connection, but getting nothing more than dial-up.
