• Will BF3 and Skyrim run on these specs?

A friend of mine wonders: AMD Anthlon II X3 435 4GB DDR3 ATi radeon HD 5450 (MSI) Will it work?
It may run, but not well. Skyrim on low, not sure about BF3
Skyrim on medium, as for BF3 I have no idea. I'd suggest upgrading the CPU to something newer like an AMD Phenom II, or better.
They'll run on their very lowest settings. The 5450 isn't that great of a card, and from what I've seen it's painful to run Battlefield 3 on it so I'd suggest upgrading that. You should upgrade the CPU too at some point, but it should be fine for now.
Honestly, 5450 is awful. My sister wanted something to play L4D2 so I put in a GT520 which is about £10 more. That just about gets 30 fps on medium settings, if you consider how well optimised the Source engine is. You will be able to play Skyrim, although on lowest settings at 800x600. Worth upgrading.
My integrated can play skyrim at 1080p so skyrim yes, battlefield i don't think so.

Definitely not BF3. Had a computer with near/same specs as you, tried to run BF3, it ran at 19fps on lowest settings and stuttered like a mofo.
