Installed 2 GB of ram, only shows Physical Memory as 1gb

I just installed 2 GBs of Ram. But it is only showing 1GB on my computer. In the Bios it shows both ram chips but only says 1024 MB of Physical Memory is available.

They were both just working together in my other computer so I am sure they are compatible

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit

It is 64-Bit because 4Gigs of ram comes in the mail on tuesday

If you bought it from a dodgey place you might have been ripped off by them saying that it has 2gb of VIRTUAL memory. I could be wrong though

Oh, read the post, they were just working in my other computer,and then the computer prior to that computer, but they won't work in this computer

Might sound dumb, but make sure that they are both in the socket right? Other than that Ive got no clue, sorry

They are, like I said it registers in bios fine but only says it's using one

Figured it out, my one memory slot has been dumped as in in one memory slot doesn't work
