Hi guys I am getting around $500 soon, and i want to upgrade my computer with it. I have thought of the AMD Phenom II X6, is it a good processor? And if i buy it, i'd need a new motherboard too, can someone recommend something? Current specs: GPU: XFX HD 5770 XXX edition PSU: Corsair vx 550w Mobo: Pegatron benicia (?) HDD: 1TB WD Caviar black CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 @ 2.66 GHz Case: CM HAF 922
You can't expect much performance out of a 500 dollar computer you realize? Putting that aside, the X6 is bad for multitasking, though it is very cheap. I think it would be a good processor for your computer because you are after all looking for value for money, I'm guessing.
I know that $500 is not very much, i'd like something cheap and good I don't need the amd, i've just been thinking about it, and if so, you can reccomend a processor too

Updated op with specs
I don't think building a 500$ computer will be an upgrade from what you have now.
I meant upgrading what i already have
Oh okay. Well your GPU looks fine for now, but I would change your CPU and motherboard to something like an i5 750 and a P7P55D.
Is the P7P55D Deluxe better than the normal one? :downs:
Get a GTX 470/ 5850/ or wait for 6000 series. If your socket supports quad cores, get one. If not, get a new motherboard ($60 to $125) and a i5/Phenom II 955.
I may be getting the i5 760 and the P7P55D Deluxe, and i will need new ram, because the ones i have now won't work. What do you recommend?
g.skill ripjaws 4gb or corsair xms3 4gb ddr3 whichever floats your boat
The cheapest price i found the P7P55D Deluxe is around $228 Is it a good price? (I'm in sweden)

us dollars [editline]10:54PM[/editline] It is 1,590 in SEK
Yeah that's about right for what your getting.
ok, thanks More money questions: Is the Corsair 4GB (2x2048MB) 1600MHz XMS3 worth $118? Is the Intel core i5 760, 2,8 GHz worth $262?
i5760 is not worth 262, and I'd personally go with G.Skill Ripjaws series ram, cheaper and about the same performance.
Can't find them anywhere and if i would order them on newegg it would be more expensive And 262 for the i5760 is the cheapest i could find
then thats a problem. i'd suggest staying on what you have now instead, and get a core 2 quad.
What do you think the i5760 is worth?
its more like 215-230. alteast on newegg it is.
I'll just save a little more money [editline]08:48AM[/editline] sorry for the bump
Should i get these http://www.inet.se/artikel/5305471/corsair-4gb-2x2048mb-1600mhz-xms3 or these http://www.inet.se/artikel/5305578/corsair-4gb-2x2048mb-1600mhz-dominator-gt-dhx- ?
Go with the first one.
