I never understood how did they even manage to market such an RNG based game as competitive ever. Your skill doesn't matter if the game decides that your shot goes wide or your shell magically lacks penetration or the damage you do is suddenly much smaller than the average of the shell is. The cause of the camping is the unreliable aiming and damaging. There's seriously 25%+- variation to damage and pen, it makes no sense whatsoever. Making stuff explode isn't going to help cure a problem that's in the fundamentals of the game.
I thought artillery tanks were supposed to prevent camping?

It also doesn't help that the current spotting/vision/camo system in place is shit.
