The technology doesn't instantly make anything look super good. You also have to put effort into making it look good and spend time on it. This guy probably hasn't spent a lot of time on this yet, hence the word "demo".

It's naturally 3D (each eye recieves a slightly different image, simulating depth), and along with it taking up your entire field of view and responding so naturally to your head motions
it's much more immersive
