This website essentially tests your speedreading skills. What I do, for the most effective measurement, take random text from a random Wikipedia article (while looking at it the least amount possible.) How fast can you read? I got about 550WPM. I'm sure I could probably get about 600 though, if I tried really hard.
Like 462. [editline]23rd March 2012[/editline] Or around 600 if I try really hard.
I voted for the largest value because I think it would make me look cool at some point.
Considering what text you linked to it felt like I was about to become brain-washed by some secret organisation. That was creepy.
Can do 600-700, faster if I try harder.
Not very fast. The text I chose had a lot of acronyms in it so that fucked me up :v: I normally have to read things like 3 times before I actually digest the information, let alone once at a blistering pace.
I got the gist of it at 667. 772 floored me, though.
857, no joke.
It depends, to actually read each word, like 400 or so. To get the general idea of what it is saying, 700+
