While I found the E3 trailer neat and really hope the game actually ends up being similar, the fact that it is kind of focusing on versus multiplayer is kind of disappointing. For me the Rainbow six fanchise was either all about singleplayer and engaging various situations with your squad(s) or in multiplayer, with your friends rather than the versus multiplayer that most of their games had. But the way the gameplay has been presented it seems like once again, a game you'll be most interested in playing with friends rather than in a matchup with strangers. Just this time, there is no predictable AI.
Hey Ubisoft, go fuck yourself
a heavily narrative-driven affair which drew from anti-Wall Street feeling and domestic terrorism.
eh ya thats probably a good enough reason to scrap it, rainbow 6 is too good to be ruined by stuff like that
Hey Ubisoft, go fuck yourself
Why? This seems waaaaaay better than what Patriots probably was gonna be. Patriots just seemed like it might have been a generic "oooh fight american terrorist bad guys" type thing, while this looks like it's pretty much gonna be a new proper Rainbow Six or SWAT game.
i liked their "kill the rich" angle they were going with originally :(

I have seen very few games go with the fuck the rich angle
such that it could match the 60 frames-per-second multiplayer games Ubisoft were “seeing in the marketplace”.
So you ditched something unique that I would buy to make something that appeals to no audience because it's too complicated to be mainstream and too simplified to appease those who enjoyed the original games? Smart.

Plus some of the elements from the SWAT games would be cool too, but ultimately this is kinda disappointing. Just look at how small the map is, and the trailer was just plain cringe worthy. If they made the map bigger, say, and entire neighborhood or a big mansion, then it would be pretty cool.
