Heard all of this before. Admittedly I haven't been following the development, but those are empty words nowadays. I'm still a huge sucker for open world and zombies though, so I'll probably still take a look once it's released.
the trailer makes it looks a lot like dead island to me
First I've heard of it, but I'll welcome any new IP with open arms.
I'm buying the fuck out of this. Ever since I beat Mirror's Edge, I've been looking for a game like it. Minus ME2, Dying Light is the closest I'm getting for awhile. [editline]29th March 2014[/editline] And zombies are an added bonus.
are the enemies in this game actual zombies or "not-zombies" like in the last of us?
A noble goal, we'll just have to see if they're capable of pulling it off.
Holy shit. This article has all the buzzwords.
the trailer makes it looks a lot like dead island to me
and the image makes it look like leettacticalknifepistol 360 no scope parkour zombies dead island
I actually liked Dead Island, for what it's worth.
the trailer makes it looks a lot like dead island to me
That's probably because it's literally Dead Island with Parkour added. :v:
and the image makes it look like leettacticalknifepistol 360 no scope parkour zombies dead island
That's a typical pistol without any attachments whatsoever and that knife is the furthest thing from a tactical knife.
I actually liked Dead Island, for what it's worth.
yeah, i played the shit out of dead island
Dead Island with a movement system reminiscent of Mirror's Edge? Guess I'll be keeping an eye on this.
I actually liked Dead Island, for what it's worth.
Dead Island wasn't bad, it was just overhyped and people still seem to be sour about it. Riptide should have been DLC, though.
That's a typical pistol without any attachments whatsoever and that knife is the furthest thing from a tactical knife.
i think he's saying that because of the "tactical knife" in Call of Duty, which was their stupid word for having a knife in one hand and pistol in the other
I really liked the trailer for this game, but I seriously doubt they will have the balls to make night time actually be that dark. I want them to be that dark though :(
i think he's saying that because of the "tactical knife" in Call of Duty, which was their stupid word for having a knife in one hand and pistol in the other
To be honest, while his criticism isn't exactly valid, the fact that he is using a knife like that is revealing. You don't fight zombies with knives. You just don't. There are a lot of reasons for this, mainly because you can't disengage quickly with a small knife, zombies don't feel pain in 99% of zombie fluff, and you can't keep your distance with knives. So the game is likely not going for semi-realistic gameplay. Probably going to be in the same vein as Dead Island.
So the game is likely not going for semi-realistic gameplay. Probably going to be in the same vein as Dead Island.
pretty sure the fact that the dude whipped out an electric machete in the gameplay trailer proved that a while ago
pretty sure the fact that the dude whipped out an electric machete in the gameplay trailer proved that a while ago
oh, i thought the press conference thing was the only info available. i actually remember seeing that but don't remember it having been from the same game haha.
That's a typical pistol without any attachments whatsoever and that knife is the furthest thing from a tactical knife.
idk man he's wearing only one glove, that's obviously pretty tactical
idk man he's wearing only one glove, that's obviously pretty tactical
It's a fingerless glove, too. Can't get any more tactical unless is was made entirely of velcro and had another pouch for a magazine.
Yeaaah i have all the system require- 3,8 gb ram (Kill bill ironside theme starts playing)
Yeah, having vertical shit is nice and all, but only if you can actually go into most of the buildings unlike half the goddamn games you see these days. What's the point in creating an environment if you can't even explore its insides?
theres nothing realistic about zombies in the first place lmbo also btw totalbiskit sez that the freedom of movement/the parkour system is the best hes experienced in a game which sounds coolbeanz to me
suspension of disbelief of the existence of zombies does not mean the entire rest of the game, scenario, or work must be unrealistic. in the same way there can be realistic sci-fi games, there can be realistic zombie games.
I'm keeping an eye on it, but I'm not going to get excited for it or actively look forward to it. While Dead Island was a fun game, it had a lot wrong with it. Graphically, it wasn't very pretty, it was riddled with bugs, the story was basically nonexistent, the gameplay was pretty clumsy and even offline there was lag and terrible hit detection, the AI was just outright brain damaged, just to name a few. So while it looks good, and there are some interesting features, their track record is keeping me from getting too engaged with it at this time.
Dead Mirrors: Island's Edge
Dead Mirrors: Island's Edge
Undead Edgy Mirrors Island
the only 'realistic' zombie would be the one that most people hate, i.e. rabies guy wot runs fast and can bleed to death/feels pain but to a lesser extent
I like the way STALKER does it, where zombies are basically people who were being controlled and slowly had their brains melted, and they can still make use of firearms but then as their brain gets more damaged they loose so much function they become like a traditional zombie.
