Counter-strike:Source
I don't need to explain this, I spent over 250 hours on this beast.
EDIT
I don't mind global offensive, but not faithful to Source for a few reasons:
- No sprays
- Guns are are too accurate (correct if wrong)
- Should stick with original M4, luckily they fixed this (ok, scratch that)
- The community is full of people who play COD and think this is a clone (someone said 'CSGO COPIED GUNS OFF COD'. Haha no. Quite opposite. CS was made in 2000. First COD in 2003. COD copied off of CS MUCH later)
250 is small time.
Half-Life + Half-Life: Opposing Force.
Valve never really created counter strike though, it was made by some modders, bought out and developed by turtle rock.
For me it's obviously half life 2
Ricochet
Dota 2, CS:S, and Ricochet. Can't really choose between them.
Half-Life 2: Episode One
I don't know why, but something about it just...clicks. The underground zombie areas were amazingly fun, the little antlion infestation wasn't long enough to be tiring like in Episode Two and the urban fighting segments felt well done. Plus the soundtrack was fucking amazing. If you don't know what I'm talking about, Kelly Bailey's tracks such as Guard Down and What Kind of Hospital Is This were in Episode One. Great stuff.
Probably Half-Life Source.
It's just pure, awesome shooter fun, the kind that's no longer present in modern gaming. It's tons of fun and that kind of shit needs to make a return.
HL2 is probably their best game, but I think TF2 comes in quite close
For me it's a toss-up between Half-Life 2 and Episode 2. Half-Life 2 is brilliant, but I think Episode 2 is just that little bit better. It's just not quite long enough.
I loved half-life 1, infact I still do.
Not a whole awful lot in Valve's Library I'd call the best.
But if I had to say, I would definantly say TF2.
TF2.
Ricochet 2
My love for Half-Life has tarnished; Dota is all the rage now, followed by Team Fortress 2 and, well, Half-Life.
We'll get Half-life 3 one day, don't worry.
As long as Gabe isn't too busy playing with his hats.
Half-Life.
HL2 didn't age all well in my opinion, as for episodes they are too short and end with big cliffhangers.

What. It still looks and plays amazing, you should compare it with some other games that came out in 2004. HL2 is one of those few games that managed to age very well.
I nominate Portal 2 for their best game.
Team Fortress 2 Pre-Hat age for gameplay
Portal 2 for everything else
Valve makes games?
I can always go for a full playthrough of Half Life 2, with or without mods
I have fond memories of L4D when I first got it. The atmosphere was very well done and the gameplay was simple but good. But once you finished the levels there was zero replayability, and they didn't release much in the way of DLC especially with L4D2 around the corner.
I really can't choose out of Half Life and Half Life 2. I liked how Half Life felt like you were doomed and trapped, and then towards the end the last hope for anyone at black mesa, but I liked how HL2 felt like an 'epic' journey through an enslaved and rotting world.
The old hatless TF2 and Portal/Portal 2 for me
TF2.
had loads of fun in day of defeat.
the half life games are probably the best they've made in my opinion.
portal too
it's hard to say which of valves game is my "favorite" since I've enjoyed most of their games a lot
TF2, have had a lot of good times on there with friends.
HL2 for singleplayer.

I have to disagree with the replayability comment. Especially in L4D we loved most of the campaigns and with random Tank and Witch spawns there was a big chance for hilarious moments. Like once we got 2 tanks per map and the second appeared near a safehouse. We were running from a horde and I run straight into him.
in order of personal preference (just the ones I've played)
Half Life 1
Half Life 2 EP2
Half Life 2 EP1
Portal 2
L4d2
Portal
L4d1
Half Life 2
Team fortress 2

L4D imo is one of the most repayable games out there. no two match is ever the same
