My download speed is just fine, but when I browse the internet, loading pages is just too slow, but only for particular sites..
Facepunch loads rapidly and I can browse it without hassle, whereas Google takes about 15 minutes to load and literally doesn't search anything.
I do not use torrents and none of my applications are updating.

And now for some reason, it's gotten to the point where Steam isn't even launching.
Do other computers on the network have the same problem? Have you tried resetting the router?
Sounds like a virus or malware.
I personally use Malware bytes, avast, and hijackthis for these kind of problems.
In regards to hijackthis if you don't know what you're doing do not attempt to edit anything. Just save a log file and post it up here if the first two options fail.

It's not a virus, I've scanned my PC 3 times with different programs, nothing detected. And to be honest I'm certain I haven't downloaded anything shady...
My mum rang my service provider, and their (pretty shitty) excuse was that it's the time of the year that makes their services work slower (To be fair I have noticed it with the TV too)

Just because something is slow, it doesn't mean it's a virus or malware. It's actually these scanners that often make browsing or the PC overall slow.

My knowledge isn't that advanced when it comes to network/internet terminology, by doing this, what am I basically doing? And why will it help?
What router have you got (exact model) and what cable do you use for internet. Get me the full specs of your computer (with network card) date it was made if possible and aprox when it was bought. Any previous issues at all your OS build will help. Another thing:
Go to your start menu and search for msconfig. Go to the startup tab and put down any anomalies here.

If he experiences it with his TV as well, it's probaly something with the provider, the box (if he has one that manages TV & Internet) or the cable (extremely unlikely if it's fiber)

Domain Name System. It's basicly what helps you find a route to whatever you're looking for. The only stable one IMO is Google's.
My internet has suddenly stabilized since I added the google DNS, thanks man!
