But what about single player. :(
I really can't stand GTA Online, I just wana mess around with stuff like you used to in GTA IV. But gotta go grind out all the money to get anything. No thanks.
(I haven't played online for a couple of months, citate. :c)

Yeah, as opposed to the no grind in GTAIV, because you didn't get anything anyway. I don't get this argument, GTAO is the same multiplayer as GTAIV, only there's like a hundred times more to it. You can do everything you could in GTAIV's MP in GTAO.

There are some people who prefer the freedom of just being able to grab anything you want right from the start that GTA IV MP had. This isn't really carried over in GTAO because you need to pay a decent amount of cash for pretty much everything that is added to the game through updates.

Grab what? GTAIV didn't have any unlocks or any cars or weapons or anything you could buy. The freeroam in that just put you in the world and that's it. You can do that just as well in GTAO.

no unlocks, sure, but gta4 online had weapon, health, & armor pickups scattered around the map. anybody could have anything at any time.
now a lot of weapons and vehicles are locked behind paywalls and anybody who wants to play with those has to either pony up cash for rockstars overpriced shark cards, grind for dozens of hours to afford a modded vehicle or two, or use a hack to mod themselves money.
ill admit ive used hacks to give myself cash, and even with 15 million bucks to spend, that shit doesnt stretch far. wooee, i got myself an apartment, a couple of modded cars, and some weapons. that wouldve cost about $200 irl in shark cards otherwise or more hours grinding than i would ever have to play this game.
sure, gtao has a lot more going on with its online than gta4mp, but a lot of it is locked behind stupid ass pay walls, boring game modes, and an xp track that levels about as fast as molasses.
and this is coming from somebody who likes gtao. some people just find it fun having everythign available at the get go. i know i wish they would at least include a game mode like that. i get like an hour a day to use a computer, i dont got time to be grinding.

That's kind of the point. You didn't have to buy anything. Everything was freely available in the world, you just had to go get it.
GTA V on the other hand you need to grind for hours upon hours to get even a semblance of wealth, so that maybe you can get one of the better cars, but then that comes with more grinding in race after race so you can get some parts that you still won't be able to afford, so you need to grind bank heists over and over.
GTA IV, you weren't punished for trying to have fun. Using a trainer wasn't even an inconvenience, just fun. GTA V? Banned forever. No fun allowed.

If you want to play with something like the Ruiner 2000 in GTAO, you either have to play missions that involve it, have a friend who can let you use it, or you need to pay out the 4-6 million so you can own it. There are no scripted spawns or even random spawns for it meaning you need to actually work for it. This applies to almost all the content that has been added after the Heists Update.
In GTA IV, as long as you had knowledge of the spawn points, you could pretty much play with anything in the game. Some people prefer this freedom over the way GTAO works. I personally prefer having progression(the tedious grind is not something I like in GTAO), but I can definitely see why people preferred IV's MP over GTAO.
Yes, there are unlocks in GTA V

So you're okay with 1 bike costing 2 million dollars to buy?
So you're okay with 1 bike costing 2 million dollars to buy?
And which part exactly in my post did I say something like that?
like, take pacific standard for example. widely considered the shortest and easiest heist to do because it can be easily cheesed. but even taking advantage of the kurama exploit and the helicopter trick, it still take like an hour and a half to get through the whole thing, and thats with a crack squad working together. and with a team of like 4 or 5 people cant remember off the top of my head u only get like 700k on average and maybe you'll level up once. $700k, and maybe a rank up, for almost 2 hours of work, a lot of which relies on other people pulling thru and not fucking up.
the cheapest player house u can buy is like $150k and that doesnt give u shit except a garage and a place to change clothes.
another $100,000 for that fancy car u had your eye on, plus another $30,000 for the car mods u have unlocked (dont forget u either gotta be rank 100+ or win 50+ races to unlock all vehicle mods). Or maybe u want a kuruma, since everyone has one and theyre so goddamn useful. thats $500,000. first time i bought a kuruma, the game charged me the fee for it, but i didnt actually get the vehicle. i had to buy it a second time for it to actually register that i bought a kuruma. thanks rockstar!
you drop another $10k on weapons, ammo, and armor. de[pending on ecactly what u bought, u either got ~$50-300K left over. may as well bank that cuz u aint ever gonna afford anything if u go broke every time u get paid.
its grinding to unlock more grinding
GTA V was designed with shark cards in mind. That's why online is a grindfest, and that's why R* bottlenecked the sp like they did, and now intentionally don't update it.
And the worst part is that it works. They made a huge amount of cash on shark cards in 2016.
Unless GTA VI will have no multiplayer (and online will be something un-related to the base game) this will repeat itself.
it wouldnt even bother me if rockstar wasnt so goddamn blatant about it.
HEY EVERYONE WE ADDED THE ABILITY TO CHANGE YOUR CHARACTER APPEARANCE IT COSTS $100,000 TO EVEN ACCESS THE MENU REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT ANY CHANGES WERE MADE

actually as it turns out, if you cancel out of the character appearance menu without saving your changes it doesn't charge you. even though i'm pretty sure it explicitly states that you will be charged even if you don't make any changes.
GTAO is a p2w mess, Only people who don't see it that way are people that play it a lot since they have all the cash in the world, but If I want to play it, it would take 200 hours of gameplay to get anything worth a damn, or I could just spend $100 to get sharkcards and get it now. That is p2w.
Hell, want to see how p2w GTAO is watch this

At this point id rather have paid for the dlc in some season pass and had better payment for missions then try to buy anything in this game at all. Simply not worth it.
Can I have all of that in SP?
I really couldn't give a fuck about the online portion, because I don't want to grind a fuckton of money to buy a cool car or bike and tune it out.
