• PhysX on Linux?

Hey guys, i was thinking about buying a NVIDIA GTX 560 for my Linux Dedicated Server, but i wonder if the GMOD Dedicated Server would benefit of it, especially PhysX. At the moment, letting ~25 crates fall creates 100% cpu usage to all my six 3ghz cores, so that is inacceptible :D.
As far as I know, the Source Engine (and, by extension, Garry's Mod) doesn't use PhysX so running it would provide no benefit to you. However, dropping 25 crates maxing out 6 3GHz cores sounds wrong, but I have no idea why that'd happen.
You are reallllly doing something wrong... Edit: 6 of those srcds_linux processes are G-Mod
Haha well, 25 crates is bit too few but my amd 1055t hexacore is quiite getting messed with when doing lots of physics, that just looks wrong. So a graphic card is completely unused at hosting gmod, not even as support for the cpu?

Unfortunately, devs are too fucking lazy, as usual.

What would be the point? The major limitation with physics on the source engine (on multiplayer) is network bandwidth, not processing power. Also, why would someone even bother with a GPU in a dedi server anyway?

I've been wanting to write a webserver with opencl but never got around to it
You are welcome to code something yourself.
I'm no dev, and cannot code. Or else I'd love that challenge.
