I love how Bill's waterfall model's just a giant stone phallus. That's hilarious.
I've found myself looking forward to these every week, and I don't even play Rust.
That AI behavior tree looks really nice and fun to use, do you think modders will ever get there hands on that?
Wow, I have never looked too much into Rust, but this looks very promising. Very nice work Garry and crew, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on Rust from now on.
I played rust in the alpha so I got it for free, played it a little a while back and it wasn't really my thing.. but these weekly updates are awesome and i'm super in to the direction the game is going.
The concept art reminds me of a less on-drugs version of Zeno Clash's art style. I really love it. I've not played Rust, but it's looking to become a bit more unique as an open world survival game. Keep up the good work.
Man, this game is starting to look really promising. I might actually consider buying it if this development keeps up.
Hell, I probably already would've if not for the shitty community
That hitbox stuff is pretty smart, why isn't everyone doing this?
Playing both the view model sway videos at the same time and seeing the difference, it is insane

I think there will probably be some obvious limitations or cons, otherwise everyone would. That being said, it could be just because they are using a newer engine and more advanced technologies. Let's face it, TF2 and the engine it uses is starting to become aged now (not that I don't love it still).

The moon is sticking out a bit too much, but otherwise it reminds me of Dear Esther, which is a good thing.
Night time in this game is just absolutely stunning, I hope the tree less fields will stay. Gives a cool perspective of distance. And I personally love that kind of stuff, like seeing a guy with a torch several hundred meters away from me.

.. How did you get it for free? I didn't think playing in the alpha mattered.

After Rust got on Steam alpha players received Steam keys for it V:v:V

I never got it, and I played then.

You only had to login into http://playrust.com/ but I assume the login is long gone.
Oh, that explains. I played super early on before it was mentioned, but never checked back after maybe 2 weeks. Thanks.

Same, I remember the thread where it got announced and I quickly got into it before garry started charging for it, heck I couldn't even run the game with my shit PC at the time but I got a good PC now so I don't have any issues playing it.
These devblogs are great, I even get them on my Google Now because I search them up everyweek, heh.

Really Really old accounts that went inactive were purged, so you probably lost your account in the first place.

Damn.
The only thing that sticks out as bad to me is the sounds on the deer. I'm not sure if the sounds are final but if they are they stick out far too much. One literally sounds like someone blowing into a microphone.
It would be very distracting due to the mostly silent atmosphere in Rust. I'd look into a better sound artist.

I'm gonna go on a limb and say that it's all kind of placeholder sounds atm
I must know more about this health bear.

Yeah I'd say so too, but something too many devs do is underestimate how much sound adds to a game. Worth pointing out just to make sure it's looked at imo.
I must admit rust is facing a really great direction.
