What sorta really old PC games do you personally wish would be revived for the modern age?
Personally, i think we need a revival of Operation Inner Space

Pardon me for being more arcadey than Windows, but Robotron 2084 completely kicks ass.

I think my earliest memory of using a computer was playing Fuji Golf and not understanding a single fucking thing that was going on. I think the MS Entertainment Packs all need reviving.

lovely horrible fucked up atmosphere and hard as balls enemies
this game is stupidly underappreciated
System shock 1
the maze screensaver
Bestheda's Terminator Future Shock & Skynet. Everything in the Terminator franchise that came after Skynet blew fucking dicks.

It got a sequel, but it's basically a worse version of the original.
Commander Keen, Stunts, Golden Axe, Kyrandia, The Incredible Machine, Theme Hospital....plus a metric fuckton I can't remember.

Speaking of fighting games, We could use a new One Must Fall

Little Big Adventure, was one of the first games I ever played, and I remember loving it. But I downloaded it off GoG recently, and in reality it's a fucking mess.
As terribly cheesy as this intro is, Skynet was the shit back in the day and the franchise just went downhill afterwards. All we need's a decent Terminator game set in the grimdark future shown in the movies. No Arnie, no Christian Bale, no time travel, no bullshit, just an FPS in an iconic setting.

The sad thing is that I'm pretty sure there was actually a fan project to redo Dark Forces in the engine that was used for Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy, but the person who was doing it ran out of steam after remaking the first few levels and never finished it.

I have to agree. Blood was so fucking good. I at least want a modern Windows port or something. No clue why Atari won't release the source code, they're not even doing anything with the series.

It runs perfectly fine on modern machines as well, which is nice.

Chip's Challenge
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f7/Chip's_Challenge.png[/t]
There is a freeware version of it roaming the internet somewhere but I wouldn't mind a successor of some sort. Some of the puzzles really had me stumped back in the day.
The first one was in the DOS era so it counts, I guess.

Escape Velocity: Nova with a modern game engine and modern sprites. I've been playing it lately and the art style is still fantastic, but the gameplay needs some work. It's very much a case of "mount railguns then run away and rain death from afar or else die" in its current state. It wouldn't even need to transition to 3D, the 2D gameplay is fine in theory, it just needs some better execution. Plus, pre-rendered poster cards to show off ship models are great.
