• Decent gaming laptops.

I recently tried to get my friend into PC gaming but because his computer is pretty old and his parents say he can't get a new computer for some reason but they say he is allowed to buy a laptop. The maximum he would be willing to spend would be around £600. Also I'm pretty computer illiterate so try and keep the computer talk to a minimum.
£600 won't get you a good gaming laptop. If you want gaming for that price you either have to be picky about your prebuilts or build it yourself. [editline]10th March 2011[/editline] It can be done, but you wont be getting good value for money at all.
For that budget you could get a nice custom built. Not very hard to learn building a PC if you really want to learn.
That's fucking stupid you can't get a decent non gaming laptop for that. My dad just dropped around $900 on a laptop just for web browsing. Tell him he's limited to console gaming as that's actually affordable for his dumb parents.
Calm down man. Since you are a new user you shouldn't be so mean.

Depends what you mean by decent really. I myself am looking for a laptop capable of playing some pc games (Guitar Hero 3, DC Online Universe, Sims 3 etc) on average settings, and stumbled across this, which is cheap and seems to be decent enough. I'm not massively into pc games though, so it might be dreadful for someone wanting to use it all the time. But still, a suggestion at least.
