I Was Wondering Which Is The Best Laptop Out There. Ranging From The Macbook To Gateway M-Series. And Many More.
Asus makes some quality laptops.
Matters, Mac or PC? I guess i can cover both... (Since this is Hardware and Software I will post the technicals) Mac - I think macs are great for everybody. The new Mac laptops are great and support windows with the amazing boot camp software. My favorite mac is the Mac Book Pro 15-inch due to its large screen size and portability. Though it has a large price tag ($1,699-$2,299), it prevails to have some nice insides. The $1,699 comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor with a clock speed of 2.53GHz, while the $2,299 also comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo but it clocks at 2.8GHz. Both models contain 4GB of DDR3 memory. The $1,699 comes with a cool 250GB Hard Drive spinning at 5200 RPM. The $2,299 comes with 500 GB at 7200 RPM. The $1,699 model comes with an advanced NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics card, while the $2,299 comes with a sweet NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 512MB. Both of these models come with a built in, rechargeable, 7-hour battery. PC- Sadly, I cannot cover these due to how bad I am with PC Laptops... All i can say is that Asus and Lenovo have great laptops. Good luck!

Here is my summary of the best laptops. Mobile Workstation (No regard to price or weight) would be the Dell Precision M6400 (starts at a mere $3319) Gaming would be the Alienware M17x (starts at $1799) But for build quality and overall user experience I personally would go with the 17" Uni-body Macbook Pro. Some argue the 15 is better, but to each his own. I say a 6 pound 17" laptop is hard to argue with. ($2499) All very expensive, all very nice.
The Macbook pro's are so nice it's a shame they can't run windows as the main(and only) os.
Alienware, no, just no.
Alienware is only shit for desktops. Their laptops are fine.
Alienware is only shit for desktops. Their laptops are fine.
Prebuilt desktops are usually shite.

Sony Vaio Z series, quad SSD in Raid 0? Me wants.
In terms of performance, I wouldn't be surprised if the top spec 17 inch Macbook Pro was the best. The old model was the most powerful Vista laptop you could buy when it came out. Of course this assumes the 17 inch will get a Core i5 in the next few days.
17" MacBook Pro.
Mac Book Pro, AlienWare m17x, Few more I don't want to name.

You want a good laptop? Depends on what you are going to use it for.
It really depends on what for.
I didn't know macs can run Windows as their main os, sorry for not knowing :/
Alienware might have the best laptop. Although, it's probably overpriced/not worth it
It's personal preference.
What does the OP mean by best? Absolute best? Or best bang-for-buck under a certain price?
