Ok, which graphics cards need the lowest amount of energy to run? My nana has an integrated gpu and probably a weak psu as it is a prebuilt and needs a better gpu for photo and video editting. Can anyone link me to some which might be suitable? Thanks
5850/5870 Eh, 5### series all-together.
A 4670 would do her fine if it's just photo and video editing.
Budget? Shoot for a 5xxx series.
Basically any Nvidia card above a 7800 will perform more than adequately. Even the low end 8/9 series cards like the x600s. Video editing also puts RAM to use and a fast/dual/quad CPU is recommended for rendering.

4550 is good for 305 and lower [editline]04:31PM[/editline] I think the low end 5000 series is coming out in a day or two if my source is correct
5870
5870
stop posting that in every fucking thread
Well I'm saying that she has a low end psu, I haven't checked but it's probably like 300 - 350 watts. So the 5 series probably won't run. Also she wants to spend as little as possible. So the 4650 / 4630 ,maybe?
4850 is less than 100$ and it goes idle around 130 and under load at 250. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131162&cm_re=4850-_-14-131-162-_-Product
I think the low end 5000 series is coming out in a day or two if my source is correct
At the price, it doesn't compete with older cards in the same price bracket.
Yeah, from what I've seen the 5670 is only about as good as low end 9800 GT.

I think PNY sells a 9800GT that doesn't even require external power, if she has a supporting slot for it.
How about the 4350? Is it good for light gaming and light photo editing Facepunch?
4350 is pretty much like an intergrated card.
I'm pretty sure his nan will be only doing light photo/video editing.. that doesn't require a 5xxx series card.
4650'll be fine for her
7200 FX or... Incase its a AGP platform 5200 FX or a ati x2600 low profile
4650 will do wonders actually, even in the case she goes on the extreme nana side. ice, get out now. One thing is a 7200 is an integrated card, and a 5 series from nvidia would cost a fortune nowadays to find (agp has gotten expensive do to being such low demand)
4350 is pretty much like an intergrated card.
Is it good for like Viva Pinata or The Battle for Middle Earth II? My younger brother in grade school only plays these games, so when I build a PC for him in the future he will probably be playing low requirment games. Most intensive game he would want to play is probably MW2.

However, I have heard that I would need to reactivate Windows 7 when you change hardware. Is this true? Thanks for your advice, too.
However, I have heard that I would need to reactivate Windows 7 when you change hardware. Is this true?
I only reset my motherboard and I had to reactivate mine, so I guess you will have to.
Anyway, I vote 4550 or 4650. I don't recommend 4670 because it is a waste to spend more if she is not gaming or Blu-Ray movies. However, I think the 4550 can handle Blu-Ray, right?
4650, rock the socks off of any super nana.
