• Getting New PC for Christmas, Need Advice.

First off, my current PC is very outdated. It's an old Media Center Edition 2005. For Christmas this year, the folks are getting me a new PC before I graduate. Price range is around $800-$900 dollars. The only problem is I have absolutely no idea on what I should actually get. One of the main reasons I need a new one is so that I could play my games without them actually crashing this piece of junk with anything higher than the graphical level of Team Fortress 2. Pretty much all I'm asking is this is going to be my last freebie before I actually have to get off my lazy, white ass and work for a living, so I need to know what's the best gaming computer out there within the price range of around $800?
Build it yourself.
I literally have zero PC building knowledge v:frown:v
Old PC Building Fact: Building a PC is like building logos, except with wires. The guides are so fucking simple. If you're really computer illiterate, go to http://www.pcityourself.com

You've been here for four years. All computer parts are are really expensive Lego. What I'm trying to say is you're intelligent enough, and it's stupid easy to learn, so I highly recommend you read up on it. [editline]5th November 2010[/editline] :ninja:s afoot.
It's very easy, build it yourself.
Alrighty then, I'll do my homework and read up.

Building a PC is almost as simple as "Device A connects into plug A. Device B connects into plug B."

Forget those or simply not know about them and you can fuck up pretty bad like I almost did. Also the CPU cover thingy. If you are nervous about hurting things, the amount of force the lever needs can scare you a bit.
