You'd occasionally hear shouts of "WHO FUCKING BUILT [wonder], I WAS ONE TURN AWAY".

tbh while it would take god knows how long to complete, a massive CiV V lan game would be pretty awesome imo
I think Civ could be a good lan party game. I love Civ but I know not everyone's got the patience for it though.
I wish I had more friends who played Civ.
I love Civ5 but no chance in hell I'm playing that online. I prefer to go for world domination starting around WW1 era tech so my games usually last 20-24 hours

Civ is a really good LAN game actually, especially for ones that go over a few days. I played it on a lot of LAN parties.

I can't imagine a huge Civ lan party going well at all. Someone would likely get jumped/stabbed/both if someone finished building a wonder before them, or if one of their cities get attacked right away.
Imagine what would happen if the barbarians were a playable faction, and someone played as them? They would die.
