I've had this custom built pc for about a month, friend helped me build it, but throughout the time I've had it, I've yet to be able to make the front panel audio port work. Not sure if it's simply not plugged in right, or what... I'm no computer expert either, so I'm not good at this. Front panel usb works fine, as well as everything else. It's an Apevia small cube case.
Some help please, and thanks.
Got pictures?
What are you plugging it into?
No pics, and no camera. There's 1 plug that seems to connect to the area with the usb and audio port that isn't plugged in, but when I built it, mostly relying on my friend to tell me what to do, we didn't know what it was or where to plug it in... The end of it has a 1394 on it if that helps. :\
Oh, and there's 2 spots on the motherboard that it will fit... Neither worked when tested.
If the plug has a 1394, it's a FireWire port. Look for a plug that says something like HD Audio or AC97 Audio and plug that in on either your sound card or motherboard, near the integrated audio.
Umm... Well, can find no AC97 or HD audio, and where exactly would my sound card be?... Didn't put one on myself, so thinking it must be part of the motherboard?
Probably be easiest if I could figure out and tell what motherboard I'm using...
Find your case on Newegg for me.

Luckily I bought it from newegg and had the page bookmarked.
What motherboard do you have?

The brand and model number should be printed prominently somewhere on the motherboard, if you list the largest words / numbers we can probably figure out which one you have.
Motherboard is DFI Lanparty P45-T2RS.
Front panel audio connector is here:

Your case should have a HD audio connector that looks like this:

Ok, thanks, I'll give that a shot.

Ok, well, after unplugging and checking, I had a plug with "AUDIO" printed on it in a slot that says "FRONT A..." the rest is under my video card, assuming it says Audio. But this is how I had it, and the front panel never worked.

Also, the Motherboard in the pic you showed is quite similar, but not the exact same as mine. But on startup, it says P45-T2RS LANPARTY on my screen.
