First of all, fuck Dell Support. They've been giving me the fucking runaround on this bullshit.
Second, like the title says, I can't hibernate and there's a fuckton (over 7000 in 1 week) of messages in the System Log that I'm absolutely sure is tied to the hibernation issue.
The error in the log is
[quote=System Log]
The embedded controller (EC) did not respond within the specified timeout period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC hardware or firmware or that the BIOS is accessing the EC incorrectly. You should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS. In some situations, this error may cause the computer to function incorrectly.

Yes, I've Google'd all over the place and found relatively nothing. The only thing I did find said to remove the battery and AC and leave the laptop disconnected for about 30 minutes.
Done that, nothing different. So does anyone have any suggestions for this?
Specs (since I forgot):
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T8700
Model: Studio 1737
4GB RAM
Mobility Radeon HD 3650
What OS?
Added to OP.
Did you check for a BIOS update?
Yes. It's up to date.
