FINALLY I might consider picking up the freeze ray once.
Well that's one less reason to why I shouldn't get this
I'm surprised that Gearbox even implemented the two-weapons-only system in the first place, a bit ironic considering how he mocks Master Chief's armour, although as we all know, Halo was the first game to use a two-weapon system.

Too bad the console versions still sucked.

About dam time. This really should have happened when the game came out and not 2 months after it's release.
Valve-Anti-Cheat
Implemented into DNF? GLORIOUS
So because they can't figure out a decent control scheme, we have to deal with somewhat stupid gameplay?
Thats what they said.
Half-Life 2's weapon switching system did justice, they could of used that.
True, but then again, its not the first time Gearbox does something dumb.
Half-Life 2's weapon switching system did justice, they could of used that.
And Bioshock's wasn't awful.
Well, this is AT LEAST a step forward, but it still ain't the same ol' one-man army weapon carrying that Duke used to have. But hey, let's not look a gift horse down it's throat; it's ok to look it in the mouth, but not all the way down the throat, since the death laser is usually in the mouth. After all, isn't that why people look gift-horses in the mouth, because their enemies tended to stash weapons there?
And Bioshock's wasn't awful.
BioShock's was good but bloody fast. Despite being in the middle of a complex reload Jack can still switch in 0.2 seconds to a plasmid and fire.
Finally.
Hell yes finally, this with the free DLC us first access club members are getting, it seems like Gearbox knows exactly what they are doing. We just need to be able to carry all weapons now.
I was expecting this to be paid DLC "NEW! DUKE'S HUGE BACKPACK DLC ONLY £5.99 - ADDS 2 NEW ITEM SLOTS TO YOUR INVENTORY!"
Too little too late.
Yay!
Death throes. DNF: "Love me.... LOVE MEEEEEE"
Needs to implement a vampire health system, health only regenerates out of combat. When fighting you steal health from enemies.
Implemented into DNF? GLORIOUS
Sorry, anyone who ever just yells that reminds me of how Joker says the word.
Needs to implement a vampire health system, health only regenerates out of combat. When fighting you steal health from enemies.
That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. How about they just put health packs back in?
That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. How about they just put health packs back in?
Well it would make sense in context. Duke's Ego is his health bar, so kicking alien ass would obviously make him feel more like man.
Well it would make sense in context. Duke's Ego is his health bar, so kicking alien ass would obviously make him feel more like man.
that was supposed to be how the game was, but I guess they just went with regen health
I don't understand people's disliking of DNF! I fucking loved that game, it was so fucking over the top and absurd. I thought that was the point of the game? You know, not to be taken seriously, and to be enjoyed. But, I guess that's just me and people who actually aren't cynical as fuck. :)

The low quality graphics, the framerate problems, and numerous other problems that made the game hard to like. I literally got a headache after two hours of playing

Gearbox's job was merely to polish what they were given.
I thought that was the point of the game? You know, not to be taken seriously, and to be enjoyed.
Isn't that the point of every video game? Just because it's "over the top and absurd" doesn't mean it should be free of criticism.
I for one enjoyed DNF. Once you look past the flaws, it's one hell of a game.

God forbid we actually got to see more than a small handful of NPCs on screen at a time, or something other than "mostly empty factory halls", "mostly empty desert", "mostly empty casino". Using the pistol and shotgun for 90% of the game was definitly absured. Not in a good way, but still absured.
